1. Introduction

Apptive Labs built My Pocket Recorder as a lightweight audio recording application for Android. Because this app records audio, we want to be especially clear about how microphone access and audio data are handled.

2. Microphone & Audio Data

• RECORD_AUDIO permission: Used exclusively to record audio when you tap the record button. The app only records when you actively initiate a recording.
• Your recordings are local: All audio files are saved to your device's internal storage or SD card. We never access, upload, or process your recordings.
• Recording in the background: So a recording is not cut short when you leave the app or lock the screen, recording runs as a foreground service. Android requires a permanent notification while it does, which is why the app asks to post notifications. The notification is only ever about your own recording.
• Audio Visualizer and level meter: These process audio data in-memory only — nothing is saved or transmitted.
• On-device processing: Optional effects (noise reduction, echo cancellation, low cut), recording level and loudness normalising all run on your device. Audio is never sent anywhere to be processed.

3. File & Storage Access

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Used to save and read your recorded audio files on your device.
• Recordings are saved in a folder named "MyPocketRecorder" on your device.
• Marks you add to a recording, and your app settings, are stored in the app's own private storage on the device. They are removed when the app is uninstalled.

4. Purchases

My Pocket Recorder is free to use. Pro is an optional one-time purchase — there is no subscription and nothing renews.

• Google Play handles the payment. We never see or store your card details, billing address, or any other payment information.
• RevenueCat manages the purchase on our behalf and tells the app whether Pro is unlocked. It receives a randomly generated, anonymous identifier for your installation, along with the purchase receipt and basic device and country information from the store. It is not given your name, email address, or Google account.
• Restoring: Your purchase is tied to your Google Play account, so it can be restored on a new device or after reinstalling.

5. Data We Collect for Analytics

• App activity: Which screens are visited, features used (not the content of recordings).
• App performance & crash data: Error logs to identify and fix bugs.
• Device or other IDs: Advertising identifiers used for ads, and an anonymous installation identifier used for analytics and purchases.

None of this includes your recordings, their file names, or anything you say.

6. Advertising

My Pocket Recorder shows ads to users who have not bought Pro. Ads are served through Google AdMob and AppLovin MAX, which selects between advertising networks on our behalf. These use advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads.

To opt out of personalised ads, go to your device's Google Settings → Ads.

Buying Pro removes all ads, and the app stops requesting them.

7. Third-Party Services

These are the services the app uses that may receive data:

• Google AdMob — advertising
• AppLovin — ad mediation
• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — app usage and crash reporting
• RevenueCat — purchase management
• Google Play Services — billing, in-app reviews and app updates

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Your recordings are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes the app's data, but recordings saved to external storage may remain. You can manually delete them from your file manager.

9. Children's Privacy

My Pocket Recorder is rated for ages 3+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Given the sensitive nature of audio recording, we encourage parents to supervise use by minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
