1. Introduction

Apptive Labs built My Pocket Recorder as a lightweight audio recording application for Android. Because this app records audio, we want to be especially clear about how microphone access and audio data are handled.

🔒 Key point: Your audio recordings are stored only on your device. We do not upload, access, or transmit your recordings to any server.

2. Microphone & Audio Data

RECORD_AUDIO permission: Used exclusively to record audio when you tap the record button. The app only records when you actively initiate a recording.
Your recordings are local: All audio files are saved to your device's internal storage or SD card. We never access, upload, or process your recordings.
Audio Visualizer: The real-time visualizer processes audio data in-memory only — nothing is saved or transmitted.

3. File & Storage Access

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Used to save and read your recorded audio files on your device.
Recordings are saved in a folder named "MyPocketRecorder" on your device.

4. Data We Collect for Analytics

App activity: Which screens are visited, features used (not the content of recordings).
App performance & crash data: Error logs to identify and fix bugs.
Device or other IDs: Advertising identifiers for AdMob.

5. Advertising

My Pocket Recorder may contain ads via Google AdMob. AdMob uses advertising identifiers to serve relevant ads. To opt out of personalised ads, go to your device's Google Settings → Ads.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your recordings are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes the app's data, but recordings saved to external storage may remain. You can manually delete them from your file manager.

8. Children's Privacy

My Pocket Recorder is rated for ages 3+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Given the sensitive nature of audio recording, we encourage parents to supervise use by minors.
